The as-built documentation process, step by step
- Scope & site walk. We review your goals — renovation, lease, MEP coordination, facilities — and confirm which areas, levels, and detail you need documented.
- On-site laser scanning. Survey-grade scanners capture the space as a dense, millimeter-accurate 3D point cloud, including hard-to-reach ceilings, roofs, and mechanical rooms.
- Registration. The individual scans are aligned into one clean, coordinated point cloud with a documented accuracy check.
- CAD drafting. Our drafters trace the point cloud into precise 2D as-built drawings in AutoCAD — plans, elevations, sections, and RCPs.
- QA & accuracy review. Every drawing is checked against the point cloud to your required USIBD Level of Accuracy before delivery.
- Delivery. You receive editable CAD files, a PDF drawing set, and (optionally) the registered point cloud to reuse on future projects.
