Accuracy, and What a Virtual Tour Is Not
Matterport dimensions are typically within 1–2% of reality. That is appropriate for space planning, marketing, facility documentation and insurance records.
It is not survey-grade. Matterport is not built for measurement-critical construction workflows such as clash detection, prefabrication layout or tolerance verification. Where those matter, we capture with survey-grade equipment instead — see 3D laser scanning.
Turnaround & Service Area
On-site capture is usually a half to a full day, depending on the size of the space and how many positions the tour needs. The finished tour is typically delivered within two to five business days — the shorter end covering single-floor spaces, the longer end covering larger buildings or tours with added hotspots, embedded media and product tagging.
Campuses, multi-building sites and phased projects are scheduled per project. We confirm the capture window and the delivery date in writing before the visit, so the schedule is something you can plan around rather than wait on.

Hosting & Ownership
Two questions are worth settling before a virtual tour project starts: who holds the files afterwards, and what keeps the tour online. Our answer to both is deliberately simple.
What you own
You own the finished tour and the source material behind it — the 360° panoramas, the tour build, and, where the space was laser scanned, the registered E57 point cloud. Deliverables are handed over at project completion. Nothing is held back pending an ongoing payment.
3DVista tours
A 3DVista tour is a self-contained set of files. It can sit on your own web server, on your intranet, or on a hosting account we maintain for you, and it can be moved between them at any time. There is no platform that can switch it off and no subscription that has to stay current for the tour to keep working.
Matterport spaces
A Matterport space works differently by design: it lives on the Matterport platform and stays live only while an active subscription covers it. That space can sit under our account or be transferred to a Matterport account in your own name, whichever you prefer. If hosting ever lapses the space goes offline — which is why we hand over the exported assets as well, so the underlying record never depends on a subscription staying paid.
Hosting terms
Hosting is quoted per project alongside the capture, so the ongoing cost is visible up front instead of appearing later. Request a quote and the hosting arrangement will be set out in writing with it.
